Pasta Torte Recipe
1 lb. mostaccioli,rigatoni or ziti pasta
1 tbsp. butter
1 lb. ricotta cheese
2 slightly beaten eggs
5 tbsps. Parmesan
1/4 cup of breadcrumbs, Italian seasoned
8 ozs. mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup of prosciutto, chopped (optional)
2 tbsps. finely chopped parsley(optional)
Oven should be preheated to around 350′ F. Get a 10-inch springform pan and grease it well then set it aside. Pasta should be cooked to al dente state then set aside.
In a bowl, mix together 3 tbsps. of parmesan, parsley (if you like) and ricotta then set this mixture aside. In another bowl, mix 2 tbsps. of parmesan and the crumbs until they are thoroughly mixed.
Toss the pasta with the butter and layer around 1/3 of it on the pan as well as 1/3 of the mozzarella, half a pound of the ricotta, 1/3 of the crumbs and 1/8 cup of prosciutto.
Do the same steps in layering then finish with a third of the pasta, remainder of mozzarella and the crumbs.
Bake in the oven for about 30-35 mins then allow it to cool down for 10 mins before you remove it from the pan.
