Family-Style Lasagna Recipe
8 ozs. cooked lasagna noodles
1 lb. beef (ground )
3 (8 oz.) cans of Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
1 chopped onion
2 eggs
3/4 lb. sliced mozzarella cheese
2 cloves of minced garlic
1/4 tsp. of fennel seed
1 tbsp. parsley, minced
2 tsps. of salt
1/8 tsp. of ground cumin
1/2 tsp. of basil
8 ozs. cottage or ricotta cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Inside a skillet, cook and brown the beef together with the seasonings, onions and garlic.
Drain off the fat and add in the 3 cans of Hunt’s Tomato sauce then cook simmered for 10 mins. In another bowl, blend together eggs and ricotta.
Inside a 13×9-inch dish for baking evenly spread about 1/4 cup of the meaty sauce in a very thin layer.
Next layer in about half of the cooked lasagna noodles on top the sauce followed with all of your ricotta & egg mixture then half of the sliced mozzarella.
Next, cover the sliced mozzarella with around half of the meaty sauce & all of the remaining lasagna noodles.
Finish with a topping of the remainder of the sauce & the sliced mozzarella then sprinkle the parmesan on top. Bake in the oven for about 30 mins. at around 350′ F. Cool for 10 mins. prior to serving it up.
