Favorite Chicken Tetrazzini Recipe
16 ozs. of cooked thin spaghetti
4 tbsps. of margarine
1 (16-oz.) can of tomatoes
1 (4-6 lb.) chicken
A pinch of baking soda
2 chopped onions
4 tbsps. of chili powder
3/4 cup of shredded Sharp cheese
1 med. chopped bell pepper
1 pint of light cream
Salt & Pepper for taste
In a skillet, saute bell peppers and onions in the margarine. Then add in the seasonings and tomatoes then cook it gradually until the sauce is thick before adding in light cream, cheese & the baking soda then cook it for a while.
Chicken should now be boiled inside a pot and after it has boiled, cooled down and then the meat from the chicken pulled away from the bones.
In a big casserole dish, grease it well with some butter and then layer it with some of your cooked pasta. Next, arrange the chicken, sauce and spaghetti noodles and finish with cheese.
Repeat the same process until the ingredients have been used up and end the top with the sauce & cheese.
This dish will freeze well.
