Linguine with Red Clam Sauce Recipe
1 (11 oz.) pkg. of fresh linguine
1 (28 oz.) can of Italian tomatoes in puree, crushed
1/2 cup of clam juice
1/4 cup of olive oil
4 cloves of minced garlic
1 tbsp. of butter
1 lb. of scrubbed littleneck clams
3 tbsps. of chopped fresh basil
Pasta should be cooked as per instructions from its package. In the meantime heat the olive oil & butter inside a big saucepan on medium flame. Add in garlic then simmer it for around 3 mins. or when garlic starts to color but not get burned.
Next, add in basil, clam juice, salt and tomatoes. Reduce the heat then continue simmering for 8 mins. Then, add in the clams afterwards continue to cook it covered while simmering for another 3 mins. or when clams are opened.
Just pour the sauce & the clams on the cooked linguine.
