Skillet Lasagna Recipe
6 cooked, rinsed & drained lasagna noodles
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 (30 oz.) jar of spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
1 chopped onion (small size)
1 tsp. dried basil
3 cups (12 ozs.) mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 med. chopped green pepper
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, grated
In a Dutch oven or Crockpot, cook and brown the beef, green peppers and onions then drain off the drippings. Add in spaghetti sauce, basil and oregano then simmer it without a cover for 10-15 mins.
In a big skillet, evenly spread out 1/4 cup of the meaty sauce then layer 3 noodles on top of it (make sure to fit the noodles to the skillet and cut it necessary some excess part).
Evenly spread out half of the remaining spaghetti sauce on top of the noodles then follow with a sprinkling of half of the parmesan and half of mozzarella.
After the cheeses, layer again with the remainder of the noodles, meaty sauce & grated parmesan. Cover it then cook for 3 mins. on medium flame.
Lower the heat then cook it for 35 mins. more. Finish with a final layer of the remainder of shredded mozzarella and allow to stand just until the cheese melts.
