Stuffed Shells Formaggio Recipe
12 ozs. Jumbo pasta shells
4 beaten lightly big eggs
8 ozs. Spaghetti sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 lbs. ricotta cheese
1 tsp. black pepper
Inside an 8-qt. pot of boiling water, cook the shells in boiling water for about 8 mins and drain it well then place in cold water in order to stop the cooking process.
Drain off the water then place the shells with their open sides facing down onto paper towels to dry them out. On a bowl, mix together all other ingredients aside from the spaghetti sauce.
Onto a 12×9x2-inch dish for baking, evenly spread out a thin layer of the spaghetti sauce on the bottom. Oven should be preheated to around 375′ F. Stuff the shells with the cheesy filling and arrange them on the dish with their open sides facing up in 1 layer.
Spread out the remainder of the sauce on top of stuffed up shells. Cover it loosely with aluminum foil then bake in the oven for about 40 mins.
Makes 12 smaller portions or 6-8 big portions.
