Tortellini in Parmesan Cheese Sauce Recipe
1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen cheese tortellini
1/2 cup Mozzarella, Parmesan, Monterey Jack or Romano cheese, grated
1/2 cup of milk
1/3 cup margarine or butter
1 tsp. flour
2 tbsps. Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Tortellini should be cooked as per instructions from its package and drain it well. In the meantime, make the sauce by heating the milk inside a medium-sized saucepan. Melt the butter in another bowl inside a microwave while the milk is being heated up.
To the melted butter, add in flour. To the saucepan of heated milk, add in the butter & flour mixture and continue to cook it stirring often until it bubbles up and starts to thicken up.
Add in cheese and continue to cook until the mixture is mixed well. Season with some pepper and salt and pour this sauce on the cooked tortellini. Top with chopped parsley if you want
